a popular misconception

talked to some vets and they say the booby traps rarely get anything

the one that won the war were AMERICAN media and the realization that the war was pretty much BS even if they had won

the tet offensive was a hard smacking military failure for the PAVN but the media misconception made it seem like the US got mopped by the PAVN

they are glad they fought but are bitter towards the government

canada hasn't been in war since korea so we dont see as much action as the US

the main couse of the failure is the VC taking their own law to the peoples, so thats why they dont have any contributes from their own peoples,

i dont blame to the media about the misconception, its because they try to tell dont trust to the enemy.... coz they will do anything during we unconscious...

Tet Offensive, taktical win by US... Strategicly lost for US since they cannot cantrol the whole south vietnam... VC/NVA can freely conduct offensive anywhere, anytime and any place...

thats pretty much the image giap wants to send back to the american people

the large scale border crossing raid failed but the american people thought

'ZOMG ITS THE TURNING POINT OF THE WARRR'

eventhough for the regular soldier/marine it like another day

VC were pretty much wiped out in 69 thanks to one general Vo Nguyen Giap

it did not meet its military objectives and yes the high number of casualties

the VC ranks were decimated during the offensive.most of the VC were made up of PAVN soldiers afterwards

US forces won on the battlefield but the PAVN won in the media

one should see not only the outcome, but also the story behind it. yes, the viets won & they got what they want.

ever notice anything after that?

i was talking in the context of the tet offensive

by the end of the offensive americans still held south vietnam and pushed all PAVN units back to the border

militarily speaking,it was a failure

the war was pretty much pointless and a humanitarian disaster

the US and USSR shouldn't have gone there in the first place

biar saya ringkas kan cerita pasal trajedi ofensiv TET ni,

VC mlakukan serangan/sabotaj d bandar2 seluruh Vietnam Selatan. Manakala NVA pula mlakukan offensive d sempadan dan bjaya mnawan bandar Hue...
